Rocky Mountain Airshow

So the Military Vehicle Collectors Club of Colorado attended the Airshow at the Rocky Mountain Municipal Airport, formerly Jefco Airport, last weekend. They came out in force with a bunch of WWII encampment stuff and Korean/Vietnam vintage iron. Here are some pics.

That is too cool. I don't have any idea what most of that shit is or does but It's all OD in color. I love Olive Drab, way cooler than Tiger stripe. The new shit I think looks like shit. Velcro patches. Is tha so if you die they can issue em to the replacement?

I heard it was so that you could just peel and stick your name and group patches before and after washing. I can't back that up though.

The command trailer setup looks cool. What does the white color of your trailers signify?

Man, can you let me know when the next event with that club is? I would love to take my son to that.

That missile command trailer is the bomb. Heat and AC. The AC needs recharged but it is the shazbot. Watching movies on the side kicked ass too.

The white truck and trailer. It is that GMC M-220 that Dad and I brought home from Barstow a couple months ago. Usually white is the arctic color. However it was painted white for two reasons. It was used on an artillery range and did not want to become a target. Also White is much cooler in the desert temps of Yuma AZ. Hence the two AC units on the roof.

The next big show will be the Hangar Dance at the Boulder County Airport next June. Most of the evnts from here on out are kind of small or parades. The biggest show for the MVCC is the Rky. Mtn. Air show.

That Cage armored car is a machine. Ironically it uses 2.5 ton rockwell axles. It has two Browning MA-2 .050 cal machine guns and a .030 cal machine gun. This show is the first time I have seen it. There are tanks in the club too. We have a Sherman and a Stuart tank as well as some other armor.
