I picked up a surplus Mauser 24/47 over christmas that I'll be using to build a custom hunting rifle out of. Need to put a few rounds through it in it's stock form to see how it shoots. So who wants to go with me?

Not mine, but mine is exactly like this one, right down to the three hours it took me to get all that cosmoline off. I haven't refinished the stock like this guy did, b/c I'll be replacing it with a high end maple or walnut (haven't decided) stock as part of the build.

I dunno, but the 8mm Mauser is a bit overkill for plinking :mrgreen:

8mm is a great plinker round. I got my first 8mm Mauser for 18 dollars . Bought it out of a barrel at a surplus store in San Francisco. Try to buy a gun there now. Especially if you are 13 years old. Got a shit load of ammo cheap as well. The rounds all turned out to be tracers and my friend and I started a bunch of little fires. Oh the good old days.
