HTC Thunderbolt 4G

Postby Chilipepper » Thu Oct 13, 2011 8:50 pm

I was an OG Motorola Droid user for a long time. I had it rooted and it was awesome, but I finally upgraded to 4G with the HTC Thunderbolt. I rooted it the first day! Currently I'm running a Gingerbread ROM and overclocked to 1.6GHz! This thing flies! 4G is sick! Pictures, videos, and music are all downloaded and uploaded on a fraction of the time! I also was able to tether my laptop to my phones internet connection, as well as my XBOX! I'm thinking about sorting off my home land line and internet connection! The cell reception is kinda week here so maybe a repeater will do the trick.

Bad ass! I got the Samsung Epic and love the Droid system too. I need to get Tapatalk so i can see the RZO site on my phone and upload pics to the site.

I gotta check and see if I can clock my phone up a bit. It's pretty fast. Supposed to be a true 1 gig processor. But clockin it would be shweet! And I don't have good 4G reception so i have not been able to 4G it much. It will be nice when 4G is proliferated like 3G.

;)

I've heard that if you do a lot of tethering that the phone companies will catch on and hassle you. No biggie for using now and then, but probably not the best for a primary internet connection.

There is an app you can get use once rooted they can't catch as far as I know. They do watch your data usage, but between Pandora, NFL Sunday ticket, and Netflix apps I've only once gone over 2gig. I was grandfathered in on the unlimited data plan.

That was my impression that they just kept an eye on data usage. If you start using it as your primary internet connection, then I would assume your data usage we jump pretty dramatically.

There's an article on lifehacker about how to tether without getting caught.
