big steps for My kiddo and I comin up! she will be starting 1st grade! $75 in just school supplies!! wtf? havent even bought her clothes yet! She is actually reading everything that has letters/words on it now. She told me she wants to take the jeep to school first day so i will be doin that. Ill have to do the whole lunch thing, plays, fundraisers. all the fun stuff. im kinda excited I loved goin to school up until i was about 9 then i hated it.

Yeah Ella starts 1st grade too and that $75 skool supply list is BS. 10 monther fucking glue sticks, all due on the first day? And in P town they charge $1 each way for bus too. WTF?

Keaton starts Kindy as well this year.

$1 each way? gay dude. yeah i have stuff on her list that has to be brand name like markers crayons etc. im halfway there and ive spent $40. hope her mother decides to help out.

It's a list we had to go off of. Imagine spending $80-$100 in the skool supply section of walmart, that's a big ass list.

Yeah. The whole pay to bus thing came about because the Douglas County school board got pissed at the GP for not passing the last school tax hike. So they in their infinite wisdom decided to take it out on the parrents. They took bus stops away and made kids walk almost a mile to get home. A mile is the statutory limit. Some rural kids actually had to walk further but nobody gives a shit about them right? Then when that got challenged they put a few bus stops back in but then instituted the fee to ride the bus. Of course they are not going to fire a few of the 4700 assistant principals they have....Just need to vote all those bums out of office.
