Keep your eyes and ears open for me!

Postby joshp xj » Sun Nov 06, 2011 9:13 pm

So I have been contemplating what direction I want to go with the rig and I have decided what I want to do. So I need to start gathering parts. I am putting together a incomplete list of parts I am going to need (major parts) and if you guys have or come across someone with any of these please let me know.

D60 Front (pass drop)
D60 Rear
^Thinking f-250/350 width, would like super duty axles
Any misc D60 parts
Would possibly consider D44 front and 9" rear as well
~8 lug wheels to match axles

Gen 3 99'+ 5.3 GM v-8
Wiring harness and pcm
4L60E Auto trans

Not sure about T-Case yet, Atlas is out of the question for now.

I will update periodically. Thanks again guys.
This is where I am headed

Go with a front 60, it is worth the extra $$. Are you looking for an old school king pin 60 or?

either way. I know kingpins are stronger from what I understand but I don't know shit about them. I would almost rather ball Seth-Joint but it all depends on what's available when I'm ready to drop the dough. I would kind of like a matched set of like f350 axles.

I know I was totally jackin with ya! Seriously though, let me know what your price is. I think I have a Dana 60 front out of a 99+ super duty lined up. $150 bucks. Has a bent tracbar mount. Tubes are straight.

Don't the newer one tons use unit bearings? I know you can get conversion kits to swap them to a normal spindle and bearing setup.
Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Don't teach a man to fish...and feed yourself. He's a grown man. And fishing's not that hard.

Conversion kit is big bucks, but if you are buying the axle for that cheap maybe you should do it.

I spent 1K on my front 60, and that is before I installed the gears and all that. I do have that guys #, and he collects 60s as a side business for his shop out in aurora.

Make sure that $150 axle is a D60 and not a D50. My F350 has a front D50... :(
